2026-27 School Year Enrollment Opens May 1st
Ages 9-13
Taught by Jackie Johnson
This open‑ended maker space class gives students the freedom to dream, design, and build using a wide variety of materials and tools. Instead of following a set project, students take the lead—choosing what they want to create and exploring the process at their own pace. Whether they’re sketching, crafting, engineering, sculpting, or inventing something entirely new, this class celebrates creativity in all its forms.
A rotating selection of materials provides endless possibilities. Students can come in with an idea already in mind or find inspiration from prompts, examples, or the materials themselves. The instructor acts as a facilitator and creative partner, offering guidance, problem‑solving support, and skill demonstrations to help students bring their visions to life.
Open Studio empowers students to take ownership of their creative process. They learn to plan, adapt, experiment, and persist—skills that translate far beyond the maker space. With the freedom to explore and the support to succeed, students discover what they’re capable of when their creativity is in the driver’s seat.
