This year-long life science class aims to teach students about the diverse life forms found throughout the world. Students will explore biological science as a process, cell structure and function, genetics and heredity, diversity of living organisms and their ecological roles. Throughout the year this course provides an opportunity for students to develop scientific process skills, laboratory techniques, and an understanding of the fundamental principles of living organisms.

Cells & Organelles & Biomolecules
Cellular Transport, Energetics and Division
Cellular Respiration and Photosynthesis
Genetics
Ecology
Bacteria, Viruses and Immunology
Each week students will be responsible for completing the week’s reading and applicable assignments (vocabulary, short answers, and note-taking) and may be assigned a video that correlates to the weeks’ topic.
At the end of the year each student will receive a summary of the class and a personalized note on their learning progression.
Students will have weekly homework, including reading, vocabulary, and short written assignments. Homework supports what we are learning in class and helps students build strong study habits. Students should plan for 1–2 hours of work per week.
This is an in-person only class on Thursdays 9:00-10:15

Middle School Science is offered as part of our complete Middle School program OR as a stand alone class with a monthly cost of $67.
